This old head barely stays on straight anymore. How did I manage this chaos for so long?
We returned to the family Astro van after viewing the water fall at the Yellowstone river only to find my father had locked the keys inside. A back window was open, a small plastic latch that held the window at a small angle. My brother, or father, someone – disengaged this latch which allowed the window to open just another inch or two – which was all my little body needed to slide through into the backseat. “My family’s glad I’m little!” I exclaimed slithering into the opening.

One early morning at the blue line station on the far west side. an intoxicated man lumbered up and down the platform. It was too early to be drunk and much later than he realized. About five of us watched this man peer over the edge then lose his balance and fall off the platform toward the tracks below. We rushed to help him before he accidentally touched the third rail. As we pulled him back up to the platform he mumbled through boozy breath – “I dropped an heirloom”. Okay, buddy.
Remember that time Pete and I flew to Vegas with nothing but wallets and suit jackets and on the return trip our flight came through O’Hare, and so I hopped the blue line and Pete a flight to the Cedar Rapids airport and we both arrived at our apartments at the same time?
